récolte

(Château Smith Haut-Laffite - Gironde - France - October 2004)

Repose-toi: un champ qui s'est reposé donne une récolte abondante.
[Ovide]

Take a rest: a field that has rested gives a bountiful crop.

Barry FLANAGAN: British sculptor, famous for its bronze hare sculptures among other master pieces, signature of the artist, representing a universal figure both farcical and melancholic, tribute to the history of sculpture, dance and wine, as in the antiquity the hare was very often related to Bacchus.
The hare became a friendly icon, watching over the old vines of Cabernet Franc in front of the Château. The legend says that true hares come to dance around its feet at full moon.
